What kind of drivers license do I need to rent a scooter in Mexico?

To rent a scooter in La Paz, Mexico, you only need a regular driver’s license.

How far can my scooter rental go on a tank of gas?

The Scooter can go approximately 150km on a full tank of gas. However, it is strongly recommended that you consider refuelling when you have less than a 1/4 tank.

How much does a full tank of fuel cost?

A full tank of premium fuel (red) will cost you about 100 Mexican pesos. Check that the meter is set at 0 before they start to fuel, as this is a known trick some people use.

Can two people share one scooter?

Depending on weight and size of the two people, it is perfectly possible to ride two people on one scooter. But you will have to be careful when going over speed bumps, as the ground clearance will be lower.

What type of scooters can I rent?

All our rental scooters are Italika X125GTS scooters from 2019 and onwards. They are fully automatic, 125cc scooters with a storage space under the seat, and a top speed of 70km/h – which is plenty for the roads in and around La Paz.

If I return my scooter before the Return Time, can I get a refund for the unused time?

Once you leave the departure/return area, a minimum of 1 day rental will be charged. For longer rentals, if the scooter is returned early, you will be refunded the unused time.

Note that any discounts you received for longer term rental will be discarded, so if you rented for 1 month, but cancelled after two weeks, you will be charged at our weekly rate.

How old do I have to be in order to rent a scooter?

All renters must be at least 18 years old. If you are aged 16-17, you can rent a scooter with an accompanying adult.

Is it possible to I extend my rental time?

If the scooter is still available, we will be happy to extend it for you. Time Extensions are of course depending on availability, and are not guaranteed. The only way to guarantee a scooter for any given period of time is to pay for the total time you at the beginning of your rental (+ it’s also cheaper!)

What happens if I damage my rental scooter?

If you damage your rental scooter, you will be charged for the repairs according to a certified repair shop in La Paz.
